Most heroes are capable of evolving. If a hero card has grey stars it means the hero is capable of evolving to the next rarity and becoming more powerful.
Hero Types[]
Below each hero’s name you will see its type and race. The type will give an indication of it’s stats and battle skill it uses. Some leader skills, battle skills and enemy skills target certain heroes based on type or race.
Ally Heroes[]
The middle card of your first deck on the left is the hero your allies are able to use in battle. It's also the hero that other players will see on leaderboards and guild chat.
Players are more likely to add you as a friend or use your hero if you set a strong card as your ally hero as well. During events many players change their ally hero to one that provides the most benefit for an event.
Guild members, friends, or random players can select your hero to help them in battle or Scavenge, Craft Potions, Bounty Hunt, and Recruit Heroes. When they do this, it rewards you with Honor points to spend.
It's best to spend Honor points on event keys, but you can also open point honor packs in the Store. The 3000 point pack isn't really worth it though, as you can almost get 10x as many rewards with the 300 pack.
Leader skill bonuses stack. For example if your heroes leader skill gives all Light Honored heroes a 300% damage and HP bonus, and you bring an ally whose leader skill is the same; Then your Light Honored heroes will deal 600% more damage and a have 600% HP more for each hero. Make sure you use this stacking bonus to get the most out of your team when selecting an ally.
Hero Development[]
There are 3 ways to increase the power of a card. Power up, evolution, and awakening.
Power Up[]
Power Up Information
Power Up Preview
Power up is how you fill a card’s XP bar and level it up.
You can sacrifice up to 6 cards to power up. The higher the rarity and level of the cards the more XP you will earn.
You'll earn a bonus +50% XP on every card sacrificed that matches the affinity of the card you are powering up.
XP potions give more XP. 1,000 for Potion I, 10,000 for Potion II, and 50,000 for Potion III. They are mainly bought from the Trial Store, but can also be earned from Event rewards/packs.
Powering up costs gold. The more base XP added the higher the gold cost will be (excluding the affinity bonus).
After powering up you can have a chance at Fortune's Favor to draw a card and earn a bonus of +5% to +100% XP.
The first draw is free. You can spend 100 gems or watch an ad to draw again. Each draw odds of a higher bonus increases.
The most efficient way to power up is to use 6 cards or potions of the same affinity. This will maximize Fortune's Favor bonus.
Evolution[]
Evolution Information
Evolution Preview
All heroes can evolve to a stronger form.
To evolve a hero you need catalysts and gold. Catalysts are earned from rewards or bought in stores/packs.
Evolution Frenzy and the Vault of Essence are very helpful event missions to obtain the catalysts you need.
Catalysts can be bought in the Daily Dungeons, Dust Store, crafted or given as rewards during Events. If you are missing a catalyst tap on it to view its crafting recipe, and a list of where to earn the catalyst if it is available as an adventure mission reward.
You can tell if you have the required catalyst materials if the number is green when looking at a recipe on a catalyst. Simply tap the catalyst card to view and complete the crafting recipe.
Once you evolve a hero it transforms into a higher form. Its name, appearance, maximum level, stats, and skills will change as well. It is always positive to evolve your heroes!
Awakening[]
Awakening Information
Awakening Preview
Awakening is the way to unleash your heroes ultimate power. Through awakening you can double a cards power (when awakened 5x).
You need to sacrifice 2 items in order to awaken a hero.
A duplicate or Wisp of the same affinity & evolution lvl.
Each awaken increases ATK/REC/HP by 20% (100% max).
The level of the duplicate card doesn't affect the awakening.
If a card is evolved its awakening level is reset to 0, so don’t awaken cards you plan to evolve in the future.
It's best to awaken powerful 6★ heroes (such as Gem Destroyers/Rainers/Spawners, Power Gem Heroes, Turn Delay Heroes, etc.) with wisps rather than another duplicate.
It's better to keep at least 2 of a kind for their battle skills rather than awakening, especially since they're rare to obtain.
The best heroes to awaken with duplicates are 6★ heroes from event collections since you can get 1+ from a couple packs.
Teams[]
Team Information
Team Preview
Each team can have 5 heroes including 1 leader.
The higher your rank the more teams you will be able to set. Set up teams to make it easy to take on a variety of battles.
For example, you can set up teams where a different affinity hero is the leader of each one. This way you can easily set your team before battle based on the enemies or boss.
Make sure you understand all affinities strengths and weaknesses, as well as leader skills of your various heroes when setting up your best teams.
Team Building[]
To build the best team pay close attention to the synergy of heroes, relics and their affinities/skills.
Team Building Information
Affinity Cycle
Certain colored gems will deal double damage if you're using the stronger affinity. If you're using the weaker affinity it will do half the regular damage.
Affinity cycle: Fire > Earth > Water > Fire , Dark > Light > Dark
Fire: vs Earth +100% Damage, vs Water -50% Damage
Earth: vs Water +100% Damage, vs Fire -50% Damage
Water: vs Fire +100% Damage, vs Earth -50% Damage
Light: vs Dark +100% Damage, vs Light -50% Damage
Dark: vs Light +100% Damage, vs Dark -50% Damage
Best Teams
A maxed out team consists of 5 heroes of the same affinity and race (maximum 5x 300% leader buff of Damage & HP), max level and awakened 5x, and 5 event relics that target that race to create 4x gems each. Also consider necessary Counter Skills vs. a Defender team or bosses.
Example Best Light Team:
1-5 Light Relics: To spawn 4-20 light gems at the start to beat RNG. Example: Magic Lamp.
1-2 Gem Rainers: To increase the drop rate of light gems. Example: Mind Taker.
1-3 Power Gem Heroes: To generate light Power Gem I to IIIs. Example: Lady Sensha.
1-2 Gem Destroyers: To destroy all gems except light. Example: Monk Orek.
1-2 Gem Spawners: To create light gems or transform gems to light. Example: Summoner Kamilah.
1 Turn Delayer: To delay the boss or enemy 1-2 turns. Example: Solus/Holy Wing.
Gem Destroyers work better than Spawners in most cases, unless the hero can transform gems.
Some heroes do have multiple effects like creating both Gems and Power Gems or delaying the enemies turn and increasing drop rate. If you're lucky enough to pull one of these heroes be sure to have them on your team or use it as your ally hero, so others can too.
Some 3-4★ heroes with immunity or turn delay/slow can come in handy for difficult enemies.
Creating Specific Teams
Try to focus on creating teams specific to different battle modes or situations. For example:
If the opponent defeats you in 1 blow you will need 1 Turn Delayer or a counter hero to dispel the skill.
If you're missing a Turn Delayer, etc. bring that friends hero to battle to synergize with your team.
If you don't have 4x bounty hunters you can use a team of 2x and bring a 4x+ friend until you die.
If you can only clear up to X stage for Bounties use a team without any Bounty heroes to finish the rest.
The game mode and the opponent(s) you're facing in battle is what you should build your team around.
You can view more information on team building on the Team Building page.
Relics[]
You can equip up to 5 relics on a team to boost your heroes stats.
Relic Information
Relic Stats and Effects
Relics Level:Determines attributes stats on the relic. PvP relic multipliers increase at Lv.20+?
Unique Effects: Only 1 of that relic can be equipped, and it's effect applies to a specific hero or team.
Attack Bonuses: Apply after other ATK bonuses, such as Commander gems.
PvP Attacker: If marksman value > than 0, spawn a Marksman Gem when opponent has Guard.
PvP Defender: Guard greatly increases defenses, and it can only broken by Marksman Gems.
Relic Information
A Relic only applies to its targeted race. If you have that race on your team the Relic effects will only apply to those heroes. Cane/Shields are not recommended.
A relic may be artificially boosting your teams power when it actually has no effect. (Possible Bug)
Cards > Team > Press the "i" to view Team Intel and make sure equipped Relics effects apply.
Crafting/Equipping Sabers is recommended to fill in for the remaining slots that aren't 6★ event relics (to generate 1 affinity of gems at the start of battle).
Relic effects are applied in battle from Left to Right. Unequip then equip Relics in the right order to maximize damage and gem spawns. Sabers first then Event Relics.
It's better to use a 6★ Event Relic for it's PWR even if it generates gems of a different affinity.
Just make sure you equip the odd Event Relic/Sabers first before the proper Event Relics.
You can view Relic Packs or other Pack information on the Store Packs page.
Matching Gems[]
Match gems as fast as you can. The strongest gem match is swapping 2 IV Power Gems of the same affinity that are surrounded many of the same gems, then match any remaining 3-chain+ gems on the board. The multiplier will increase exponentially (20-30x+) if the 2 swapped Power Gems of the same affinity are beside other Power Gems of that affinity. In the end you should be doing hundreds of millions or even billions in that 1 turn.
Gem Matching Information
Power Gem Tiers
Power Gem I: 5-Chain, Power Gem II: 6-Chain, Power Gem III: 7-Chain, Power Gem IV: 8-Chain+
Gem Matching Strategy
The last Gem used to create a 5-chain+ is where the Power Gem will be created.
In some cases it's better creating 5-chains to combo Power Gems later rather than a single 10-chain.
You can quickly end turns by matching any 3-chain then swapping any 2 gems that don't combo.
A good strategy on strong bosses to get rid of gems that don't match your affinity between turns.
You can also match smaller chains of the gems you need to activate your heroes skills, and use them once, twice, or more before the battle is over. Take the time to match gems and use skills wisely if you're in a difficult battle. 1 miss match could cost you the battle.
The last turn before time runs out, you take damage, or die, you can do 1 big hit by activating all skills and swapping 2 of the same affinity Power Gems on the board that's mostly filled with your teams gem affinity. Using a Turn Delay hero and 1 bit hit is the key to defeat forge bosses.
Turn Strategy[]
How you match gems and when you use skills is critical in how the battle will end.
Matching Strategy Information
Turn 1: Build Up All Skills
Focus on matching 1 affinity of gems that you are using in battle with your 5 heroes of 1 affinity. The goal is to match enough of that 1 affinity so that every heroes skill on your team is ready by turn 2.
Relics help a ton to create Power Gems and to have all skills ready asap, especially if you have at least 2+ Relics of 1 affinity (8+ gems).
Turn 2: Gem Hoarding
You should have at least 1 Power Gem III/IV or 2+ Power Gem I/IIs on board after Turn 1.
Try to match as many 3-chains+ of gems that aren't the affinity you need. 5+ chains are good to create Power Gems so you can transform them or combo/swap them later with other Power Gems.
Remember to end turns quickly by matching 1, 3-chain+ quickly then swapping 2 gems that don't create a match, or setup a 3-chain match that will be activated after gems are removed. Especially if the battle has a time limit.
Turn 3: More Gem Hoarding / Skill Activation
Continue matching other gems than your affinity until you reach the final wave/boss.
If there are more waves (around 4-5) and you need skills to take out a difficult enemy then activate your skills asap at round 3/4. Then try stalling and building up your skills again by matching your affinity gems.
Match small 3-chains of your affinity so that the enemy hopefully won't die and you have more time to build up skills again for the final wave.
You don't want to over kill enemies in any wave, especially the wave before the boss.
Use just enough weaker skills to finish off the last few enemies, and save stronger skills like Power Gem creation, Gem Destroyers, Turn Delay, etc. Skills that only deal %Attack damage are good to use.
Turn 4: Final Attack or Stalling to Build Skills/Attack
This is where you unleash all your skills on the boss, and swap your 2 strongest Power Gems beside each other (Hopefully IV beside IV) for your final explosive attack.
Next try to create a huge cluster of gems (like 3x3+ or 5x5+ area) of your affinity around the 2 Power Gems swapped. This will increase the multiplier exponentially. (Hopefully 20-30x+)
If necessary use Immunity skull right before you will be 1-shot by the boss, or use Slow on any boss about to 1-shot your team.
If the boss doesn't attack right away in 1 turn you might have the opportunity to build up skills again or create a big enough combo to finish the battle.
Battle Guide[]
Choose different missions in addition to the Main Campaign. There are new Events on a weekly basis.
Battle Basics - Part 1
Allies who you chose at the beginning of the mission will attack alongside you, and their battle & leader skills will also be available to you. Choose wisely who you bring into each mission.
The battle system involves matching orbs that represent your team's affinities. The more orbs you connect, the more powerful the attack heroes of that affinity will perform.
Battle Basics - Part 2
As you attack, battle skills will charge up for each hero - once these have been fully charged, perform them by tapping on the hero who is ready to attack. Leader skills are passive skills that activate automatically depending on the hero that you chose to lead your team.
If you are able to match up many orbs of the same affinity, you will create a power gem - when this is matched all heroes of that affinity will attack all enemies. Consider it an all-out brawl!
Battle Basics - Part 3
In addition to affinity orbs, hearts will also appear during battle - use these to heal yourself. The larger the recovery stat for your heroes, the more health you will regain.
Enemies will display how many turns are left until they attack to the right of their health bar.
After your battle you'll discover what loot you received. Depending on the mission you may receive new hero cards, new catalyst materials, and gold.
